The speaker of the house of Representatives honourable Femi Gbajabiamila has debunked the rumour going round on some media platforms that the house has gone on recess over the deadly coronavirus
The speaker made the clarification after the minority leader of the house Honourable Ndudi Elumelu raised a matter of privilege.
Elumelu said the headlines he saw on the newspapers Wednesday over the amendment he made that the house should go on two week recess over the coronavirus was totally taken out of context.
The speaker said the house did not in anyway concluded on the matter, rather it was a resolution that is subject to discussion before a conclusion will be reached
The house had on Wednesday resolved to suspend plenary session for two weeks to allow the national assembly management to put measures in place devices to curtail the spread of the disease.
However no date was set for the commencement of the recess.
