As the House of Representatives prepares to reume plenary sessions from its annual recess, the leadership of the House in fulfilment of its Legislative Agenda installed an electronic system for all its proceedings

This means that he House will no longer conduct its affairs via voice votes and the use of hard copies to convey instruments of legislation.

Speaking to journalists chairman house committee on media and public Affairs Representative Benjamin Kalu sai the house has by the installation of the equipement fulfilled a major promise to the Nigerian Public.

‘We have fulfilled one of the key items onour legislative Agenda, which is the e-parliament,’ he said.

The House spokesman said the device, will drastically cut the cost of legislation in the House by discarding the use of paper and ink as part of legislative instruments

The lawmaker disclosed tha the e-parliament was installed cost-free, assuring that it will also be maintained withour cost tot he public treasury

Kalu also said that members of the House would soon undergo training on the proper usage and adaptation tot he systemn

The legsislative business e-tablets alloted to the 360 lawmakers, has applications of for Order papers, the Votes and Proceedings, the 1999 constitution, the Code of Conduct, the legislative Agenda as well as the House Rues for easy legislation
