The Chairman , Cross River State Journalists Forum. (CROSSJOF), Comrade Ignatius Ushie has expressed displeasure  over the  killing of a security officer during the conduct  of   the  People Democratic Party primaries election   for Obudu, Bekwarra Obanlikwu Federal constituency.
According to Ushie “the killing of an innocent police officer who was discharging his official duty was unwarranted and uncalled for, How can a man that left his family for his duty post be killed just like that”.
As journalists, we condemn this act and call on our security operatives to bring the perpetrators to book and ensure that justice is serve,  this he said will serve as deterrent to those who would want to continue in the evil and demonic act. 
He said politics should be played without bitterness, no bloodshed is required, we are calling on political office holders to coordinate their supporters and eschew violence and pursue peace with all sincerity.


Obudu, Bekwarra Obanlikwu is a peaceful place and that peace should be sustained by all irrespective of political àffiliations.

Comrade Ushie However, commiserates  with the family of late Martins Mbang and request that all parties should remain calm while the government investigates the matter and bring  the culprits to book. 

He called on all Crossrivarians in the business of politics to ensure they engage in issue based politicking for the over all interest of peace and unity of the state.
