The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has postponed its Gala and Award Night, initially scheduled for Friday, November 15, 2024, in Abuja, in honour of the late Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja.

This is even as the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, has conveyed deep condolences to the family of the late Lt. Gen. Lagbaja, as well as to his colleagues and the entire Nigerian Armed Forces.

“Lt. Gen. Lagbaja was a leader of immense dedication and sacrifice. His contributions to Nigeria’s security and inter-agency cooperation are immeasurable. We stand with the Nigerian Army, his family, and all Nigerians in honouring his memory and service.”

The rescheduling of the Gala and Award Night, according to Adeniyi allows them to pay their last respects to a man whose impact resonates across all security services and beyond.

He said further information regarding the event’s rescheduled date will be communicated in due time.
