The newly appointed Executive Vice Chairman/ Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC), Mr. Tunji Bello officially assumed office Thursday.

Bello who was appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was screened and approved by the Senate on Wednesday and takes over from the Acting EVC/CEO, Dr. Adamu Abdullahi, who was the Executive Commissioner in charge of operation during the tenure of Babatunde Irukera.

He was welcomed to the Commission by Dr. Adamu Abdullahi, Executive Commissioner Operations, and Mr. Kola Alabi, Executive Commissioner, Corporate Services.

The new FCCPC takes over a Commission which was elevated to an all time high by its erstwhile EVC/Chief Executive, Babatunde Irukera, a tempo which was sustained by Dr. Adamu Abdullahi.

The expectations of Nigerians remain high especially as they live in a clime where consumers rights are carelessly trampled upon. It is left to be seen what the new EVC will bring to bear during his tenure at the helms of affairs.

Mr. Bello brings a wealth of experience to the FCCPC, and we are confident he will be a strong advocate for fair competition and consumer protection in Nigeria.

Before settling into his office, Mr. Bello went round the Commission to familiarise himself with the staff.
