The Army School of Public Relations and Information (NASPRI), has recently decorated the six newly promoted student Naval Officers who benefitted from the Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), 2023 promotion, from the rank of Sub-Lieutenants to lieutenants of Nigerian Navy.

Acting Commandant Nigerian Navy, Lt. Col Adamu Ngulde chaired the decoration ceremony at the Headquarters, NASPRI Administration Complex of Muhammadu Buhari Cantonment, Giri Abuja.

The decorated officers who are members of Course 25, Direct Short Service (DSS) were attending the Media Operations Officers Course (MOOC 13/2023) in NASPRI.

Among the decorated officers are Lieutenants SS Aidi, AO Akor, CE Akor. Others are LE Antai, SO Nasiru and OO Omole who have attended both Military and civil courses commiserate with their ranks.

The Special Guest of Honour, Director General, Voice of Nigeria Alhaji Jibril Baba Ndace in his address, urged the newly decorated student officers to be worthy ambassador of the Nigerian Navy. He also charged the officers to always take good care of their family, provide a good education and good upbringing to their children, and to always take good care of their wives. He noted that wives are blessing to officers because they take care of the home front while their husbands are away on military duties.

In his remarks, the Commandant congratulated the newly decorated officers for a well-deserved promotion, adding that with promotion comes added responsibility as the journey becomes tougher on attainment of new ranks.

He therefore challenged them to work harder because the opportunities get narrower for the ranks that lay ahead of them, noting that not everyone they got promoted together with will be promoted subsequently, because the vacancies keep shrinking as they ascend the career ladder.

He urged them to justify their promotion through hard work, loyalty and commitment to the Nigerian Navy and the nation. He further enjoined them to attend courses and as well graduate with flying colours.

In a vote of thanks, Lt. SS Aidi on behalf of the decorated officers thanked the Chief of Navy Staff on the confidence reposed on them and also commended the Commandant and Staff of NASPRI for imparting knowledge on them and also promised on behalf of other beneficiaries to live above board while pursuing their career in the service.
