The Industrial Training Fund (ITF) has advanced its technological prowess of skills development activities by producing a 4G smart mobile phones.

The Director-General of ITF, Sir Joseph Ari showcased the indigenously produced phone at the opening of the Physical/Virtual 12th National Council of Industry, Trade and Investment in Abuja.

Ari said all the materials used in the production of the devices were sourced locally within the country and made possible through the collaboration of ITF and its trainees from its Model Skill Training Centre(MSTC) located in Abuja.

The 4G cell phones which has all the components obtainable in any mobile unit,  has an inscription on the package “ITF Mobile Developing the Nation Human Race Source, Proudly Nigeria’’.

He said the fund had been directed to produce seven phones to be presented to President Muhammadu Buhari while another one to the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.

The presented five of the newly produced 4G phones to the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment Otunba Richard Adeniyi Adebayo and his state counterpart, Ambassador Mariam Katagum. Ari added that the President Muhammadu Buhari, the minister of Communications and Digital Economy would also be presented with the phones.

Ari noted that the model skill centre went into collaboration with the Singapore Institute of Technical Education and Services which focused on modular form of training.

According to him, the ITF is working in tandem with the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) to ensure that all the products meet the required standard.
