A gang of unknown gunmen has waylaid a bullion van carrying cash to one of the popular banks in Ebonyi state on its way from Enugu.

The gunmen who were armed to the teeth had intercepted the bullion van at Ezzamgbo junction in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi state and straight away opened fire killing 4 police escorts that were accompanying the vehicle on the spot. Two other persons were reportedly injured at the scene following a shooting by the gunmen.

As at the time of filling in this report It was not yet clear whether the gunmen were able to cart away any cash from the bullion van.
