Police in Edo arrested the former Managing Director, Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC), Mrs. Funke Osibodu but was released on administrative bail, to report back at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Abuja on Thursday for further questioning.

Contrary to media report, Osibodu was arrested Monday morning by a crack team from the office of the Inspector General of Police, following a petition written against her by the new Managing Director of BEDC, Dr. Henry Ajagbawa, alleging criminal intimidation and threat to life.

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr. Alkali Baba Usman, had on receipt if the petition ordered the immediate withdraw of all policemen attached to her before obtaining a search warrant and warrant of arrest from a court of competent jurisdiction to effect her arrest.

The report said Mrs Osibodu who was released on administrative bail after obtaining her statement was arrested with five hoodlums, whom she employed to prevent her arrest.
