The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, has picked the N100m presidential nomination and expression of interest form of the All Progressives Congress (APC)
Emefiele is said to have picked the form through a group known as Friends of Emefiele, at the International Conference Centre on Friday in the Federal Capital Territory.
There has been speculations on the interest of the CBN chief in the number one seat of the country.
Emefiele was appointed CBN governor in 2014 and has since remained at the apex bank. Under him, the naira has wobbled against the dollar and now exchanged at N560/$1 from around N150/$1 when he came into office.
In 2019, President Muhammadu Buhari renewed his tenure, making him the longest serving Apex bank Governor.
Emefiele will have to vacant his seat should he choose to pursue his presidential ambition.
