FG Urges Ambassador-Designate To Represent Nigeria’s Interest, Better Bilateral Relations In Spain

The outgoing Board Chairman Corporate Affairs Commission, Ademola Seriki has pledged to improve on the implementation of trade relations between Nigeria and Spain, following his appointment as Ambassador-designate by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Seriki said this on the sidelines of a dinner organised in his honour by the corporate affairs commission, CAC.

He said under his watch, and in collaboration with ministry of Justice, industry, trade and investment, trade relations between the two countries will experience a boost.

“We have to seat down, work with the Spanish government, Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Trade in particular.

“The problem in Nigeria is that we don’t have people who will be in charge of implementation and we will have desk officers that would be assigned specific responsibilities to ensure the realisation of trade agreements without procrastination”, He said.

The minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Richard Adebayo said the Ambassador designate has what it takes to achieve the task ahead of him.

On her part, the Minister of State, Mariam Katagum, urged the Ambassador-designate to aside trade, look out for the well-being of Nigerians living in spain.

Meanwhile, The Registrar-General of the CAC, Alhaji Garba Abubakar said the management of the commission enjoined tremendous support from the wealth of experience of the outgoing Chairman.

He said with the reforms currently going under the guidance of the outgoing Board Chairman, the Commission has made company registration easy, adding that this would help improve Nigeria’s rating in the ease of doing business.
