…Accuses FG Of Undue Interference

Members of the Ijaw Youths Council (IYC) have locked the office of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) in Bayelsa state over the federal government’s failure to constitute the agency’s board.
The youths who staged a protest in Yenagoa, the state capital, also blocked some roads leading to the NDDC premises.

They accused the federal government of undue interference failing to constitute a board for the agency as provided by the law.

In October 2019, President Muhammadu Buhari appointed an interim committee to oversee the affairs of the commission, pending the conclusion of the agency’s audit.
