The Central Bank of Nigeria has warned the public to desist from engaging fraudsters who pose as contractors for special projects funding and direct development intervention.
The Apex Bank is a statement signed by the Ag. Director, Corporate Communication, Hakama Sidi Ali (Mrs.) stated that the new management under Yemi Cardoso has discontinued direct development interventions and special projects funding and redirected its focus on the core mandates of the bank.
Mrs. Ali said the CBN remains committed to its core mandate of ensuring monetary and price stability, and a sound and efficient financial system in Nigeria and as such do not authorised public notices for such interventions on social media platforms or any other news outlet.
The Central Bank of Nigeria urged the public to disregard the activities of fraudsters purporting to be in receipt of award letters of contracts related to construction works and special financial interventions on behalf of the Bank.
The statement further called for vigilance and prompt reporting of any suspicious
activities or publications to the relevant law enforcement agencies, as those perpetrating these acts are solely motivated by the desire to defraud unsuspecting Nigerians.
