The court has granted permission to the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission to arraign a former Registrar General of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, Dibu Ojerinde, for alleged N900m fraud
Justice Obiora Egwuatu made the announcement in Abuja that Ojerinde will be arraigned on 6th of July at the Federal High Court in Abuja.
This followed the arrest of of Ojerinde in March on the allegation of misappropriation of fund by the operatives of the anti-corruption commission .
In the suit no: CR/97/21 filed before the court, the anti-graft Commission alleged that Ojerinde committed multiple frauds while serving as the Registrar of JAMB and the National Examination Council (NECO).
The defendant counsel, Olorunnisola, had told the court that arrangements were being made for a plea bargain.
Justice Egwuatu held that since the prosecution was not in agreement with the terms put forward by the defence, a written correspondence should be filed to the effect.
He, therefore, adjourned the case until July 6 for arraignment.
